BYOD Hub

Learning through Technology

A hub to find all you need to know about BYOD at Sydney Secondary College - Leichhardt Campus.

At SSC Leichhardt we want to support all families to ensure their child has the best possible device for learning. If you have a device for your child, it is important to ensure it has specifications that enables learning. We have prepared a Parent Device Checklist that you can use for this purpose, or for reference when purchasing a new device.

We have also established a relationship with Learning With Technologies, an education on-selling company, that can provide a few options for device purchases. We have listed some recommended devices on this portal for parents who choose to use this service.  Access this BYOD Parent Purchasing Portal via the link below.

For parents who are for some reason unable to provide a device for their children, we have some support stuctures in place. Please read on for this process.

Have a Device at Home

If you have a device at home already, check out his workflow to ensure your child is BYOD ready.

Do Not Have a Device at Home

We understand that not all families currently have a device at home for use. We have a small pool of laptops for 'day loan' for cases like this. If your child needs to borrow a device on a day to day basis, you will need to fill out a Laptop Day Loan Request Form via this website or the SkoolBag App (iTunes or Google Play). The workflow below will guide the process for Day Loans.

Families who need to organise a loan laptop for a long term basis should contact the school directly.

Parental Controls

Some parents may wish to turn on parental controls and restrictions on their child's devices. Below are links to information for all major platforms:
